Missy Moore has spent 37 years at the intersection of nursing practice and healthcare education — training staff, certifying programs, and building the kind of clinical knowledge that actually changes how teams care for patients.
She currently serves as a Nurse Educator at BridgePoint Healthcare in Washington, D.C., and is the Chairperson of the Board at the National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy (NAWCO) — the national standard-setting body for wound care professionals.
Missy served as President of the National Federation of Licensed Practical Nurses (2008–2012), where she shaped national policy on nursing standards and practice. She has contributed to NCLEX item development through the National Council of State Boards of Nursing and served on the LPN Standards Committee of the Commission of Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools.
She is a lifetime member of the National Black Nurses Association and a recipient of the 2012 Black Nurse of the Year Award from the Black Nurses Association of the Greater Washington DC Area.
Most consultants come from administration. Missy comes from the floor. She understands what nurses actually need to learn, and she knows how to deliver training that sticks — not just checks a compliance box.
As a nationally certified Mental Health First Aid USA National Trainer, she brings the same approachable, audience-centered style to every engagement — whether she’s certifying a new CEU program or leading a wound care workshop for a 200-person nursing team.
“Missy is one of those rare teachers who inspired us. She takes the time to find out where her audience is and makes the training relevant for them.”
